Phelps”Catfish’’ Collins dies


Guitarist Phelps “Catfish” Collins, the older brother of Funk-legend Bootsy Collins, died Aug. 6 of cancer, in Cincinnati. The 66 year old Funk guitarist, who had played with James Brown, Parliament Funkadelic and his brother Bootsy, was known as the wind beneath Bootsy’s wings. He had a big part in Bootsy’s life as a big bother, musician and caretaker.
