The First Baptist Church of Cumminsville is celebrating its 140th anniversary with events planned Aug. 11-15 at the church at 3640 Roll Ave. Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. features speaker Rev O. Yates, pastor of Union Baptist; Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. Features speaker Rev. R. Reed, pastor of Memorial Baptist Church; Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. is Youth Night; Aug. 15 is Sunday morning worship service with church pastor Rev. George F. Southerland speaking; Aug. 15 is a Homecoming Service at 11 a.m. ending with balloon release and picnic at the church. Call 885-4771.
