Mark Zimmer, pictured above, celebrates with the St. Vincent de Paul team after throwing out the first pitch at the Cincinnati Reds July 20th game at Great American Ball Park. Zimmer won a contest to throw out the first pitch after he donated to the Strike Out Hunger food drive.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, in partnership with the Cincinnati Reds and NEWS 5, collected more than 10,000 lbs. of food during the annual Strike Out Hunger food drive June 25-27. Fans who donated two non-perishable food items were given a pair of tickets to the July 20 game against the Nationals. In addition, each fan donating to the food drive was entered into a drawing to throw out the first pitch at the game.
