Session matches SBEs with contracting opportunities.
The City of Cincinnati will host a Small Business Enterprise Open House in an effort to increase the number of SBEs doing business with the city government. The “match-making” session will afford small businesses an opportunity to introduce their products and services to city departmental representatives, while learning about the city’s contracting needs. The purpose of the event is to encourage SBEs to become certified with the City, as well as enhance the bidding opportunities and contracts awarded to certified SBEs.
City agencies will meet-andgreet small business representatives in a one-on-one networking forum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9., at TechSolve Inc at 6705 teger Dr. 45237. In addition, interested SBEs may enter a lottery drawing to give a brief presentation/highlight to the entire audience on their firm, services, and products.
The City of Cincinnati’s SBE Program is a race and gender neutral program for small businesses that follow the size standards of the U.S. Small Business Administration guidelines. SBEs must have a fixed office within Hamilton County and must serve a commercially useful function. The City’s overall SBE participation goal is 30 percent of all dollars spent on contracts.
