New 2012 Library Board officers welcome new appointee


Ross A. Wright Ross A. Wright At its January meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County elected its new officers for 2012: Robert G. Hendon, President; Ross A. Wright, Vice President; and Paul G. Sittenfeld, Secretary.

Robert G. Hendon was elected President of the Board of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. He joined the Board in January 2007. Mr. Hendon, whose career spans four decades in the field of engineering and architectural design, retired as Vice President of Hendon & Redmond, the successor to Hendon- Lurie & Associates, of which he was the President. He is a resident of Delhi Township.

Ross A. Wright was elected Vice President of the Library Board. Mr. Wright is an attorney in the Legal Department of General Electric Company (Aviation), where he has worldwide responsibility for litigation manage ment in complex commercial disputes. He is also an Adjunct Professor both at Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati. He lives in Bond Hill. Paul G. Sittenfeld was elected Secretary of the Library Board. He is Managing Director/Portfolio Manager for Robert W. Baird and Company. Mr. Sittenfeld is an active volunteer locally and nationally with a special interest in educational institutions. He is currently a member of the Peterloon Foundation Board, the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, Shakertown in Kentucky, Chatfield College, and the Fund for Independent Schools of Cincinnati. He is a resident of East Walnut Hills.

The new Board trustee is Barbara W. Trauth, who was appointed by the Hamilton County Commissioners as Trustee on the Board of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. A graduate of Edgecliff College, Xavier University, with a B.A. in Fine Art, Ms. Trauth is also an alumna of the Art Academy of Cincinnati and serves on the Edgecliff Alumni Board of Xavier University.

Her career in the visual arts has included work as a commercial art designer for Gibson Cards and the Lazarus Art Department. Ms. Trauth also served as a freelance fashion designer for “The Cincinnati Enquirer” and “The Cincinnati Post” before turning her focus to creating her own fine art.
