The Cincinnatus Association honors top educators

 The Cincinnatus Association will honor a teacher, an administrator and a community volunteer for their service to education as part of an awards ceremony next month at Northern Kentucky University.

 

This year’s awards and recipients are:

 

·         Cincinnatus Woodward Trust Distinguished Teacher Award for Cincinnati Public Schools:  West Davis, teacher, Woodward Career Technical High School.

 

·         James N. Jacobs Award for Outstanding Administration in Cincinnati Public Schools:  Christina Russo, Principal, Winton Hills Academy.

 

·         John E. Pepper Award for Outstanding Volunteer in Public Education for Cincinnati Public Schools: John Sherman, E.W. Scripps Company, Oyler School.

 

The awards will be presented on Tuesday, Feb. 7, as part of a dinner at NKU’s Student Union Ballroom. The event begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m., with the awards and a program to follow. NKU President James C. Votruba will deliver the keynote address.

 

Also as part of the evening, the colleges of education at NKU, Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati will jointly present their 3C Outstanding Educator awards, honoring innovative teachers who actively participate in the school community beyond the expectation of their teaching duties. The 2012 recipients are Michelle Kahny, Our Lady of Victory; Marsha Ann Corbitt, John Foster Elementary; and

Lisa Johnson Lokesak, New Haven Elementary.
